A couple of weeks ago Marley gave birth to 8 puppies. Some of you would like to know Miriam’s reactions…
At first Miriam was scared to come close to them as Marley was protecting her puppies. After 2 weeks the puppies started exploring the world and are Miriam and Binky (the cat) also allowed to come to the puppies. WHAT?!?!?!? A CAT with Miriam???! Yep, and all goes well! Binky was left by the neighbors. Miriam had seen Binky before and was fine with him so we took the risk and got him in the house… nothing happened!!! Miriam sniffed at him, chased him the next day, ran with her nose into Binky’s claw and all was settled. Miriam and Binky sometimes even sleep together!!!!!!!!
Miriams behaviour towards the pups was very good, she wanted to care for them but wasn’t allowed by the mum! She is more gentle with stepping over them then Marley and her tail will soon drop off by wagging it when she smells the puppies or tries to play with them.
Zico and Miriam became big pals too! Wherever Zico sniffs/pies Miriam HAS to sniff/pie too! Zico waits for Miriam. When Zico reacts positive to somebody Miriam will copy behavior and you won’t be able to get her away from them. No more growling! She regular goes for walks with the neighbors (2 boys, 11 and 13 years old) without any problems!
Miriam is visibly very happy and will stay here forever! She obviously wants so too: when the boys came the first time to walk her, she didn’t want to go with them!! Eventhough she loves her walks. She might have thought that she had to leave or something, but now that she knows that they will bring her back again, she comes running to the door as soon as she hears the boys coming!!!

Heel fijn om te horen!
Miriam is inderdaad een fantastisch voorbeeld van een hoe goed het af kan lopen als je een dier een kans en de tijd geeft om te laten zien wat ze te geven heeft! Maar ook hoe een dier positief kan veranderen qua gedrag vanuit een asiel- naar een thuissituatie! Fantastisch! Geniet lekker van haar en de rest van jullie beestenspul!
Echt leuk om deze updates te lezen! Nou kunnen al die mensen die er zo tegen waren zelf zien hoe goed het kan gaan als je een hond toch nog een kans geeft. Tuurlijk kost het tijd en geduld, maar als je ziet wat je er voor terugkrijgt is dat het meer dan waard!!! Wij zijn erg blij met onze Miriam en de keuze om haar die laatste kans te geven!!!
