Ricky is a good example of why exotic animals are not to be considered as companion animals (pets).
He belonged to a family with children, purchased for approx. 300 EUR, and tormented so badly that, frustrated as he was, he began feather-pecking until he no longer had any feathers left.
He was then taken to a vet by an animal lover who was trying to save him… and as wildlife cases generally find our volunteer, Margaret, so did Ricky!
He is now much happier and healthier with many feathers growing back!
