Donkeys using the stable!

I was having a hard time trying to take a photo of the animals in the stable because they associate us with food which means that as soon as the gate opens (and trust me, this cannot be done quietly!) they run out of the shelter to me… However, I decided to put the food [...]

A home finds Trent!!!

Trent was brought to us with horrific open wounds to his head and other parts of his body. We are still not sure what or how these were caused but he recovered and is now enjoying life with the family of our Equine Project intern that decided to adopt him during their visit!

Protect the whaling ban, protect whales!

On 22 June over 80 of the world’s governments will meet to decide the future of the world’s whales. However, as you can see, [...]

Our new equine assistant!

Once again on Lassithi Plateau, our paths crossed with that of a very cheerful man who was more than willing to help us. He jumped in the car, twice in 2 days, and directed us to the homes of people with donkeys, letting everyone along the way know too!

Let us know! It is important!

A warm feeling…

During our visits to Lassithi Plateau we came across an elderly man with his donkey and goat. Once his donkey was treated, our farrier offered to care for the goat too as its feet were in quite a bad state. The owner held his goat, talking to her to calm her while Hans treated her [...]
